Datin Dr. Ruhani Mat Min currently serves as the President of the Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia(LKM), the national body responsible for regulating the counselling profession under the Counsellors Act 1998 (Act 580). She is a registered counsellor and a former full professor in counselling studies at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT). She has been in counselling field more than 30 years, she has built a distinguished career in advancing counselling standards, professional ethics, and mental health governance in Malaysia.
In her role as LKM President, she provides strategic leadership in counsellor accreditation, licensing, supervision, and ethical oversight. One of her significant contributions is the introduction of the MyeLKM Portal, a nationwide platform that enhances transparency by allowing the public to locate and verify registered counsellors. She is also a strong advocate for counsellor well-being, emphasizing the importance of emotional, physical, and spiritual wellness among practitioners and encouraging lifelong supervision for both trainees and practicing counsellors.
Known for her professionalism, integrity, and forward-looking leadership, Datin Dr Ruhani MatMin continues to play a pivotal role in shaping Malaysia’s counselling profession, raising its standards, and promoting quality mental health services for the community.
